The secret is not too secret - it’s right in the name. Being a pure carbon design (meaning carbon friction discs and floater plates), the weight on the input shaft while the clutch is “open” is the mass that the transmission internals are fighting to let the synchronizer rings speed match, resulting in a completed shift. By making this weight incredibly light, the lifespan of the transmission internals and the quickness of the shifts are majorly improved. Not only is the weight on the input shaft reduced massively compared to any available organic, steel, or ceramic/hybrid system, the overall mass of the clutch and flywheel assembly is reduced by 12.8lbs (Gen 5 - 22.74 lbs on G4!), resulting in a joyous improvement in rev match downshifting, engine response rate, and engine deceleration rate. All of these combined make your Viper behave like a proper sports car.

This clutch features a new 9 finger floater design, high strength steel hub splines, and is coupled with pure carbon friction and pure carbon floater materials. The result is a very OEM-like clutch experience, with improved pedal feedback and quicker shift capabilities.
