The new SLW3 (Super Light Weight Triple) draws on our many years of experience with the Viper and puts hyper focus on reducing rotational mass on the engine and on the input shaft of the transmission, resulting in a total assembly weight of only 20.5 lbs, with only 5.01 lbs on the input shaft itself! This allows for maximum engine acceleration and deceleration rates, as well as shift speed ability of synchronized and dog engagement (H pattern or Sequential) gearboxes. Reducing the mass on the input shaft reduces strain on the input shaft with immediate speed change requests, resulting in fast shifts and less wear and tear on the transmission - all music to the ears of anyone competitively racing.
Achieving this total mass but maintaining a reasonable service life was a key design element, as well as utilizing OEM style hydraulics so there is no need for constant shimming or adjusting of slave cylinder position or changing stack heights to regain torque hold capacity.
